Back the bakerloo - southwark council

Baker Street Station is the oldest Underground station in the world. And the Bakerloo Line originally ran between Baker Street and Waterloo and has been extended further and further out of London from Harrow & Wealdstone in the North to Elephant & Castle in the South East of the city.

Most lines on the Underground have their own personality and if the Bakerloo Line was a person, it would be someone in their later years who has a lot of nostalgia for the past. It has a lot of character but could do with a bit of an upgrade. I aimed for a nostalgic feel in the photos to represent this, which was achieved mostly in the post production by adding some tint to the highlights and shadows.

The Back The Bakerloo campaign, being run by boroughs that will be affected, are pushing to get this upgrade started. This will also include an extension of the line to South East London.

These images were shot for Southwark Council for the Back The Bakerloo campaign. All the photos were taken in locations that are easily accessible on the Bakerloo Line.

There is a petition on the website, so if it is something that you'd like to support, please check it out, and hope you enjoy my images whilst you're there!
