Master, An Ainu Story

The Ainu are the indigenous people of Northern Japan. Most Ainu live on the island of Hokkaido, which was annexed by the Japanese in the mid 1800s. Since then the Ainu have been assimilated into Japanese society. Through the personal experiences of Kenji Matsuda, Master, An Ainu Story tells the story of survival and adaptation of the Ainu through the eyes of an elder in the Ainu community.
